Maritess, known as Tess, was one of Kristen’s best friends. In college, they explored spirituality, shared their values, and imagined a better world together.

Kristen remembers her compassion, warmth, and deep commitment to loving others. Tess’s example became the inspiration for a social good mission in her name.

Love, put into action.

In 2020, a reunion in Yosemite Valley led to a plan to honor Tess’s memory through community work. The mission was completed with CASA of Del Norte in Northern California, supporting local youth—a cause close to Tess’s heart.

Her friendship, kindness, and love remain at the center of this remembrance.
